How it started
In 2008, Boats4rent started with a clear goal: boat rental had to become simpler, more affordable and above all more fun. What began as a one-person business quickly grew into a popular departure point for Amsterdammers and tourists who love to steer their own boat. In the early years, the founder did everything himself: from handing out the boats to maintenance, administration, managing the website and answering the phone at weekends. Later his wife joined, and by now there's an enthusiastic team that provides the same dedication to creating a great experience on the water.

Our team
Behind Boats4rent is a small, dedicated team with a love for boating and for the city. And when you visit us, you'll immediately meet one or two of our friendly staff members. They all live in Amsterdam and know the canals like the back of their hand. Most of them combine their work with us with their studies and are at the dock a few days a week. You'll recognise them by their enthusiasm, clear explanations and helpful attitude. Before departure, they give you a personal briefing so you can head out on the water with confidence. They're also reachable during your trip for questions or extra support.
