When does the Amsterdam Light Festival take place?
Experience the Amsterdam Light Festival from the water and rent your own boat at Boats4rent. The festival takes place from 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026. The lights are on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 17:00 to 22:00. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 17:00 to 23:00.
Please note the following exceptions:
- During the Christmas holidays (20 December to 4 January) the lights are on daily from 17:00 to 23:00
- On Sunday 31 December (New Year's Eve) the lights are on until 21:00.

If you'd like to admire all the light artworks at leisure, we recommend booking for 3 hours. The price for 3 hours is €99, also including the Amsterdam Light Festival surcharge.
