Hereby we inform you of how Boats4rent (a trade name of Boaty B.V.) takes care of your privacy. By contacting us, making a reservation with us and/or renting one or more boats from us, you fully agree with this. The following was last updated on January 22, 2019.
1. Personal data
Boats4rent collects personal data from you when you:
1. contact us, personally, by email or by phone and / or
2. make a reservation via our website, in person or by phone and / or
3. fill out the actual rental agreement for one or more of our boats.
In the first case we collect your first and last name, phone number and email address. In case you represent a company, we also note the name of that company.
When making a reservation we also ask you for your first and last name, phone number and email address. The payment of your reservation does not take place on our website, but on that of the payment provider, via your own bank or through a card payment at our dock.
When drafting the actual rental agreement before the start of your boat rental, we ask the formal main renter (not necessarily the same person that made the reservation) for the following: first and last name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, identification and credit card for the deposit.
2. Data collection purposes
Boats4rent collects personal data for the following purposes:
– to follow up on your request or reservation;
– to provide you with good care and support whenever necessary;
– to inform you of any information that we think may be of value to you;
– to contact you if necessary;
– to comply with administrative and tax legislation.
3. Storage period
Boats4rent stores your personal data as long as we consider necessary to realize the purposes for which your data is collected.
4. Sharing personal data with third parties
Boats4rent will not sell your information to third parties and will only provide this information if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We may provide your information to designated external service providers, for example for payment processing.
5. Cookies
Boats4rent uses only standard technical, functional and analytical cookies that do not infringe your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website works properly and remember your preferences. Frequently Asked Questions
Boats4rent verzamelt persoonsgegevens zoals voor- en achternaam, telefoonnummer en e-mailadres. Deze gegevens worden verkregen via persoonlijk, e-mail- of telefonisch contact, bij het maken van een reservering via de website, telefonisch of persoonlijk, en bij het opstellen van een huurcontract voor het huren van een vaartuig. In sommige gevallen worden ook geboortedatum, adresgegevens, legitimatie en creditcardgegevens als borgstelling gevraagd.
Boats4rent verwerkt jouw persoonsgegevens om jouw aanvraag of reservering naar tevredenheid af te handelen, zorg en ondersteuning te bieden, je op de hoogte te brengen van relevante informatie, contact met je op te nemen indien nodig, en te voldoen aan wettelijke verplichtingen met betrekking tot administratie en belastingaangifte.
Boats4rent bewaart je persoonsgegevens niet langer dan nodig is om de doelen te realiseren waarvoor de gegevens zijn verzameld. De exacte bewaartermijn is afhankelijk van de specifieke doeleinden en wettelijke verplichtingen.
